Sunday, December 15
In Luke’s gospel, the journey to the birth of Jesus is by way of Mary and Elizabeth. Two women, each of whom is marginalized, one for being too young (and pregnant), one for being too old (and without child). And God shows up and uses them (of all people) for God’s purposes. Which might cause you to wonder whether God can use you, or me, or us.
I look forward to worshipping with you as I offer a final sermon before my retirement from Birmingham First at the end of the month. Please join us in-between worship services for a celebration.
Blessings,
Rev. Shawn Lewis-Lakin
