In partnership with The NOAH Project, StreeThreads ministers to the poor and homeless of Detroit.

What We Do

We prepare 400 brown-bag lunches that are served to the homeless in Detroit through the NOAH Project (a missions partner of Birmingham First) at Central UMC. Along with preparing food, we also collect and distribute travel-size toiletries, new underwear and new socks for those served by both.

When We Do It

We visit NOAH quarterly, with the exact dates and sign-up sheets available at the Here I Am Lord Mission’s kiosk in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings. We leave Birmingham First at 9:30 am and begin distributing the brown-bag lunches at Central UMC by 10:30 am.

We welcome volunteers, across the full spectrum of work involved… gathering food items, gathering toiletries and new underwear/socks, preparing food, serving food.
