In Port-au-Prince, Haiti, there’s a stark presence of extreme violence fueled by gangs, numbering around 200, which has instilled profound fear and disrupted food security. Despite this, the government maintains control over the airport and banking systems. Fortunately, the Jeremie area, where the Haiti Mission Team and Jeremie Rising operate, remains unaffected by gang activity, allowing us to carry out our work without interruption.

Over the past week, we constructed an additional 2 shelter homes to provide housing for the impoverished. Our efforts also include conducting mobile medical clinics and refurbishing our orphanages, one receiving a new roof and the other undergoing interior and exterior painting.

Local children have resumed their education after a temporary hiatus due to political demonstrations.

Our main challenges at Jeremie Rising revolve around food scarcity and the urgent need for mattresses in our newly built shelter homes. Twin mattresses, priced at approximately $200 each, are essential, and we aim to equip each shelter home with two. If you’re interested in contributing or finding out more, please reach out to us directly or visit our Amazon Gift registry for shelter homes.

Help us transform shelter houses into homes! We’re constructing 20 shelter homes in the Jeremie area of Haiti, but the families we support still lack basic necessities. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
