February Sermons Series at Shine Contemporary Service – “The Tie That Binds”
Looking at the historical tenants of Christian culture – Where do we, and do we not, see it today?
Stories – The Bible uses action, drama, romance, poetry, miracles (sci-fi), and parables to teach about God and history. What are our shared stories today? What can we do to connect to our history, but relate to the stories of our world today?
Music – How did the people of the Bible use music and poetry to teach about God. What is in our Christian history and United Methodist history? How do we use music and other media to share today, and how does it differ from the past?
Values – The Bible is filled with common laws that protect and inform in the Old Testament and move us to protect and care for others in the New Testament.
Food and Celebration – We will look at the wedding banquet at Cana.
