  • Pop popcorn
  • Chaperon movies
  • Parking Lot Attendants
  • Welcome Table and Greeters

The one-way children’s parade with trick or treating is a church-sponsored Halloween event on the front lawn of Birmingham First, alongside our Pumpkin Patch. We will also host a storybook time, a hotdog Halloweenie Roast, and movies on the lawn Saturday, October 23, 2021. A rainout make-up plan is for Saturday, Oct 30 if necessary.

This year we ask volunteers to dress up in kid-friendly costumes.  20+ cardtables are available to borrow or bring your own. Decorating of table space is optional. We want to create a safe and inviting trick-or-treating environment for all participants! Wearing a mask outdoors is optional unless social distancing cannot be maintained.

We need volunteers to bring candy in their own bowl & pass it out from chair pods that will be set up 8-feet apart on the lawn, several feet from the sidewalk. We will provide you with gloves to wear when passing out candy.  Please plan on candy for a minimum of 350 children. We request you provide a nut-free option for children with allergies.

We also need volunteers who like to grill & serve hotdogs, pop popcorn to serve during movie times, and a few chaperons during the movies. Thank you to Kid’s First staff who will be reading storybooks!

The event provides a safe and family-friendly environment for trick-or-treaters and the children of our church and community. Last year was so much fun that we hope you can all join us again this year!

Dressing up is encouraged, but optional. We ask that costumes be creative (please keep the scary/creepiness factor very kid-friendly as this event is for all ages of children, from the very young to the young at heart. No scary masks, no weapons, no gore.)  For inspiration, Pinterest has some great ideas!  There will be a prize for “Best Costume”!
