
Students who are entering 4th, 5th & 6th grades for the 2022-2023 school year are invited to join us in our 45C Summer Mission Days when they can engage in age-appropriate mission work in the morning and participate in cultural tours and fun in the afternoons.
August 3 – 5


We will be serving in the following ways:
- Assembling Lunches for Noah Project
- Serving Lunches at Central UMC
- Assembling backpacks for Brightmoor
- Volunteering at Cass Community Social Services Recycling Center

Each registered child will receive a new orange event t-shirt.
Each attendee must bring their own bagged lunch.
Only students currently in 4th, 5th & 6th grades may be dropped off and picked up. Siblings are welcome to come if a parent is volunteering to support daily efforts.

Wednesday, August 3
8:30 am – 4 pm
Meet at Birmingham First to assemble sandwiches for NOAH Project. Enjoy a snack & travel to Cass Community Social Services to volunteer in their recycling center and then have lunch. In the afternoon we will travel to Pewabic Pottery for a tour and tile-making experience. Adult chaperons can bring siblings. It is $20 fee for siblings to participate at Pewebic Pottery.
Thursday, August 4
8:30 am – 4 pm
Finish assembling food, then travel to Central United Methodist Church to serve lunches. We will then enjoy a rooftop lunch delivered by American Coney Island. In the afternoon we will enjoy a walking tour of downtown Detroit with a sweet treat. Adult chaperons can bring siblings. The cost for a sibling lunch at Coney Island is $10.
Friday, August 5
8:30 am – 5 pm
Meet at Birmingham First to assemble backpacks for students who live in the Brightmoor neighborhood of Detroit. Then we will drive to Belle Isle, Detroit for a picnic, playtime, and a tour of the aquarium. We will finish the day with swim time at the beach.
