Sanctuary Renovations and Organ Replacement: Photos May 10 - 14, 2005 - Part 4

Tom painting the railings.

Placement of a wind chest on the manual lift for lifting up to the west chamber.

Steady as she goes.

Sliding the wind chest off of the lift and onto the base in the chamber.

Positioning for laying flat on the base structure.

Down gently.

One of the wall panels for the east chamber that will hold the "shutters" that give the Schoenstein organ its "double expression" capability.

Up goes the 2nd panel; the 1st one is already in place. The rectangular hole in the bottom of the first panel is for the wind lines that will feed the display pipes that will be mounted in front of this wall.

Moving into place.

Mission accomplished.

A closeup of a "schwimmer" air flow regulator.

Up it goes to the west chamber.

It is followed by a conventional air regulator.

The first worship service is less than 24 hours away.

The sanctuary at about 8 p.m., Saturday May 14.
Quite a difference!

Nancy and others did a final mopping of the floor under the pews and the slate area at the front of the sanctuary.

We even had a brief concert and sing along before leaving for the night.
