Sanctuary Renovations and Organ Replacement: Photos April 18 - May 6, 2005 - Part 2

The circulating pumps for the air handling systems now abut the reinstalled pantry wall.

All that black and copper pipe and tubing has now been insulated.

Both the mechanical equipment room and pantry have fire rated doors.

This is the Air Handler 2 supply duct that feeds heated and cooled air to Fellowship Hall. All ducts have been wrapped to prevent energy loss.

The emergency lighting panel mounted on the wall in the east chancel electrical equipment room in immediate proximity to the dimmer panel.

east organ chamber cantilevered overhang.

This is the wrapped duct work associated with Air Handler 3 under the chancel. The unwrapped ducts are the connecting ducts to the flush floor-mounted diffusers in the chancel floor. The large (12") PVC pipe is the start of the windline for the east organ chambers; it will be connected to the organ blower in the west side organ pit.

Relocation of the upper west organ chamber access hole from the north wall to further back on the south wall of the chamber. This was required because of the organ design. The north hole was then closed.

Same for the east side of the cross tunnel.

This is the other side of the east side supply duct in the south cross tunnel showing the access door to the east tunnel. There is a similar door on the west side.

This is the "split" of the main 44" supply duct from Air Handler 1 to the sanctuary, narthex, and balcony. It splits into two 22" ducts, one for each side's supply tunnels. Each 22" duct has its own acoustical baffle (air movement silencer). The grill beneath the supply ducts is the entry point for all the return air for Air Handler 1.

A closer look at the return air entry.

Surprise!! This is a water circulating pump attached to the two main boilers. It has not worked since the new boilers were installed a few years ago! When testing the new systems, the lack of water flow was detected and this pump was replaced and made operational.
