Sanctuary Renovations and Organ Replacement: Photos March 28 - April 8, 2005 - Part 1

"Tuckpointing" the stone surrounds on the west side of the sanctuary. This is prepatory to sealing the brick to prevent water passing through that wall. The same will be done on the outside east wall of the sanctuary..

A view of the lift used for the tuckpointing. This lift is also used by the "glaziers" (those workers installing the protective glass outside of the stained glass windows) and the workers power washing and sealing the brick walls.

The electrical power panel in the rack room .

Newly installed narthex lights.

Stripping the existing varnish from the alter prepatory to refinishing.

Partial pulling of the wires for the sound system in the junction box on the ceiling of the music closet in the hallway between the choir robing room and the narthex.

The sanctuary emergency lighting panel in that same closet.

The two racks of controls for the electronic acoustics system
prior to installation in the rack room.

Nearing completion is the installation of the duct work connecting the supply and return air tunnels under the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall to their respective air handling systems in the mechanical equipment room in the basement.

The final piece of duct work connecting the return air ducts to the air mixing unit of air handling system 1 for the sanctuary.

That same duct as viewed from inside the air handling unit.

The new emergency lighting conduit for the sanctuary. This conduit runs from the grey panel in the CLC electrical equipment room overhead in that room and then through the wall and above the ceiling in the CLC kitchen to the downstairs hall. From there it goes up through the second level floor into the electrical equipment room on the second floor. Next it runs through that ceiling and stays above that ceiling over the north stairway entering above the ceiling in the hall at the east end of the Sunday School wing. Then it goes up through that roof. Conduit will then be run over the roof to where it re-enters the main building through new holes in the roof of the rack room and from there to the panel in the first floor music closet below shown previously. Whew!

The entry from the CLC electrical equipment room
into the space above the ceiling in the CLC kitchen.

The junction box above the ceiling in the downstairs CLC hall and the penetration through the floor of the second floor electrical equipment room.

rack room ceiling-mounted air conditioning unit.
