Sanctuary Renovations and Organ Replacement: Photos March 11, 2005 - Part 3

Meanwhile back in the sanctuary, the molding installation continues.

We also took delivery of a speaker cluster at the same time.

Spackling the "blue board" in the narthex prepatory to plastering.

Starting actual installation of air handling units 1 & 2.

Start of construction of the limestone steps from the sanctuary to the chancel; these are the "tread" or capstone pieces..

The first riser pieces in place and construction of the base for the first step.

Some of the limestone had to be heated to remove moisture before installation.

Blue board now covers the previously exposed folding wall panel support brackets and the extended columns on either side of the center sanctuary door.

The gas humidifier installed in the boiler room.

Electricians running the power for new speakers in the choir room to let the choir "keep track" of what's going on in the sanctuary; while these speaker enclosures were in place previously, there were no speakers in them!

The "accumulation track" for the folding doors between
the narthex and sanctuary after being "boxed" in.

A closer look at the accumulation track.

Installing the base blocks for the second step.

Mixing "mud".

"I've always wondered what's inside these things."

More base blocks.
