Dear First
Church Friends,
As you
have read in Steeple Notes and heard from the pulpit, we have
scheduled a Charge Conference for Monday, March 22, at 7:30
p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Our District Superintendent, Dr.
Dale Miller, will preside. All church members will have the
privilege of voice and vote. The purpose of the meeting will
be to give direction to the Board of Trustees as regards the
completion of the organ project and the refurbishing of our
sanctuary. Presenting motions from the Board of Trustees will
be chairperson, Russ Ives. Making the formal presentation
for the project will be Darrell White. Also present will be
our architect, Kevin Marshall, from Jickling, Lyman &
Powell and Jeff Hamilton from the Auch Company (our construction
managers). The formal presentation will offer recommendations
regarding the scope of work, the cost of work, and the timetable
of work. The Trustees will also present a clear overview of
existing church indebtedness and implications concerning future
indebtedness.
In order
that you might be better prepared to discuss matters presented
to you, we invite you to read through the following questions
and answers. While far from exhaustive, they will address
issues that may have already come to your mind. As always,
you are invited to talk with members of the Organ Committee,
members of the Board of Trustees, along with Chris and Doris
Hall or myself, about any additional concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
William
A. Ritter
