Visitation
Ministry

The mission of the Visitation Ministry is to visit church members who are in rehabilitation centers, nursing homes or hospitals, or who have recently been discharged from a facility, in order to share the love of God and our church family with them.

This ministry supplements the congregational care provided by our ministers and is offered by members with warm hearts and good listening skills.  Some visitation Ministers make hospital or nursing home visits on scheduled days of the week, and some are "Just Friends" who visit a particular homebound person once a month.  A training program is provided for all areas of Visitation Ministry.  Volunteers sign up for calling dates according to their own availability.  Because of the flexibility of assignments, parishioners can become Visitation Ministers even if they travel frequently or live elsewhere for several months of the year.
