The Memorial Garden

It is an ancient custom to have a burial ground near a parish church. It was always considered especially sacred ground. Our Memorial Garden is an expression of Christian faith and love. This garden is hallowed ground, perpetuating the memory of those who have departed from our midst, and will be maintained forever in quiet, dignified beauty. It is a place of lasting peace and serenity.

The Memorial Garden is located on the north side of the Church, east of the sanctuary. An area that is very private, it can be approached from the door just east of the sanctuary.

The Garden provides a lovely place for the inhuming of ashes. The ashes are placed directly in the soil of the planting areas which will be permanently maintained by the Church.

No memorial markers are placed in the Garden itself, but on the wall of the building is a brass plaque with the individual's name, year of birth, and year of death.

Two major trees have been planted at the entrance of the Garden and perennials were planted as well, insuring that the Garden will be a place of peace and beauty throughout the year.

You can take a virtual tour of the Memorial Garden as it looks in the spring. You can also take virtual tours of other areas of our church. If you have not taken a virtual tour before, you may want to read these instructions first.
