Commemorative Trees

Trees: a living presence to see and touch.

The Commemorative Tree Project is a way to beautify the church grounds, replace trees in the church parking lot, and offer an opportunity to celebrate special occasions and remember special people. The project is sponsored by our church's Landscape Committee.

This is how the program works:

  • Individuals, families, and groups may donate a commemorative tree to celebrate a life, a marriage, a special birthday or anniversary, or any other special occasion.
  • Each tree will be tagged with the date and a brief notation as desired by the donors, and donors will be notified of the location of their tree. Donors may arrange for private dedications with our ministerial staff.
  • For each tree donated, the donors will be given a distinctive certificate. A copy of these certificates will be put into the Commemorative Tree Album, available to everyone in the church library.
  • Commemorative trees will be selected with care from a variety of types of hardy, salt-tolerant plants. The trees will be about 12 feet tall. Plantings will take place once or twice a year.
  • Commemorative trees are available for a donation of $300.00 each.
  • These special trees will be given the best care possible; however, our church will not be able to guarantee to replace donated trees.
