Beynon Courtyard

Water feature in the Beynon Courtyard

This beautiful, welcoming courtyard is located near the southwest entrance of our church and was dedicated to Charlie and Loujane Beynon on July 19, 1998.

Charlie and Loujane concluded a lifetime of service to United Methodist churches in the metropolitan Detroit area with twelve years at our church, 1983-1995. During that period, Charlie served as Minister of Visitation while Loujane joined him in a wonderful ministry of friendship and care giving. Together, they brought encouragement to the lonely, comfort to the bereaved, counsel to the troubled, and cookies to the hungry. Their hearts went out to people, even as their arms went around them.

This courtyard carries their name, even as it enshrines their memory. It is a restful place that can be used for quiet meditation or for meetings.
