Historical Remembrances

Marion Bunyan

My parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dahlquist, were transferred to Michigan in 1930. I was a junior in high school. There were a group of people from Moline, Illinois, all transferred to General Motors in Pontiac, who joined the Methodist church: the Allens, Falbergs, Havermales, Birthrongs, and my parents.

I walked to Sunday school and church every Sunday, as we lived a few blocks away on Henrietta Street.

After I was married in 1937 and had my daughter in 1945, we were still walking to church.

I remember being in the Susanna Wesley Group and serving dinners to the various groups in the little building behind the church.
