Adult Bible Study – Interested in participating in a friendly, highly invitational, scripture-based Bible study group? You will find our group to be an enjoyable place to grow closer to God and closer to fellow investigators of God’s Word. Teaching series run for 8-12 weeks. All are welcome! Meets in the Wright Parlor #104.
Faith Builders – This small group of friends is looking for new members desiring to share their faith. The study centers around the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and we enjoy a lively discussion amongst diverse members with a wide range of beliefs. Teaching responsibility is shared. Meets in the Ward Library #105.
Parents of Adolescents – Parenting teenagers can be challenging, to say the least. Where can you turn for advice? This class, led by Dale Glick, will help you find support to make it through those teenage years. Meets in the Ritter Room #217.
Meaning and Significance of Infant Baptism – This is a preparatory class for parents of children who are being baptized. Taught one Sunday a month by clergy and lay staff, the class provides information about the United Methodist Church’s tradition of infant baptism, as well as specifics about our church’s service. Contact Janet Smylie for class dates and to register.
11:00 AM Classes
Sunday Scholar – We examine how scholars have dealt with and continue to deal with religious issues and religious subjects. We will begin with a lecture series on the Dead Sea Scrolls. A videotaped lecture is followed by discussion and supplemented by books and articles of interest. Led by bob Pierce, this class meets most Sundays in the Wright Parlor #104.
World-Changing Values – How have Christian values improved the world? World-Changing Values is a book study group that will help you explore the historical influence of Christian ideas and ideals on the world culture of today. You will see these important values at work through the eyes of two authors. Vishal Mangalwadi wrote our first study book, The Book That Made Your World, bringing his experience as a Christian in a non-Christian world. The second study book, Civilization by Niall Ferguson, is an exploration of the influence of Christian values on the world culture as seen through the eyes of world-famous historian. Led by Roger Pryor, Ph.D., this class meets in the Media Center #214.
