Birmingham Garden Tour
The Missions Team and Landscape Committee of Birmingham First United Methodist Church are partnering to bring a private, residential garden tour back to the Birmingham, Michigan area.
On Saturday, July 14, 2012, the “Birmingham In The Garden” tour will begin at 9:00 AM.
Five spectacular gardens not generally available for public viewing will be available this one day only until 4:00 PM.
- One such garden is arguably the largest daylily collection in the United States. Upwards of 1,300 registered daylilies, some as old as the year 1500, are arranged within this 3-acre garden by decade of their registration. This year’s tour date was selected especially to showcase the daylilies in their peak bloom.
- A second garden nestled in the Cranbrook area of Bloomfield Hills features a jaw dropping collection of more than 100 roses. With plenty of terracing, hardscape, and a magnificent pool / entertainment area, this garden is truly an at-home resort.
- Two in-town Birmingham gardens offer walls, walks, and water features with Michigan indigenous plants at their best.
- Our final garden is a lakeside estate that once was honored as the best garden in the City of Bloomfield Hills. If you like Dahlias, you are in for a special visual treat!
Tickets for “Birmingham In The Garden” are limited and may be purchased in advance at the First United Methodist Church office for $10 per person. If still available, tickets may also be purchased the day of the tour for $15 per person. Proceeds from the tour will be used to aid student international mission participation.
