Join Rev. Rod Quainton on either Sunday, May 20 at 8:15 or 9:30 a.m. or Sunday, May 27 at Shine at 11:00 a.m. for his sermon take on this year’s highest grossing movie and the phenomenal popularity of the books by Suzanne Collins. Then come to a panel discussion on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. to hear the take by members of our clergy staff including our Student Minister Chad Oyer, a literature and humanities teacher, as well as some students. The series will examine issues of where God is in all of this. Rev. Quainton will try to touch upon moments of grace, reflections on the Passion story, apocalyptic literature, violence in society, contemporary “hunger games,” and why the movie and the books are so popular, especially with preteen and teenage girls.
