We are excited about our schedule of activities and events, from Sunday School and weekday programs to special events throughout the year. The Bible tells us that Jesus’ first followers were fishermen from Galilee. Peter and Andrew were brothers and James and John were brothers. When they met Jesus they decided to follow Jesus. They wanted to learn all they could from him. They wanted to be like Jesus. They decided to leave their families and their jobs as fishermen to do what Jesus called being “fishers of men.” They must have recognized that there was something very special and unusual about Jesus for them to leave their homes to become his followers. He must have been wonderful. God wants us to follow Jesus, too. We need to learn all that we can about him. Then we will know how to be like him. Jesus came to the earth to show people the way to God. Knowing Jesus tells us what God is like, and we can learn what it means to be children of God. We can learn about Jesus and get to know him by listening in church, by singing praises to Jesus, by learning what is in the Bible, by praying and listening for God’s voice. We can follow Jesus’ teachings every day. Being children of God is a marvelous thing. We thank God for sending us Jesus to teach us how to be children of God.

SAFETY FIRST... The Sneed Children’s Park provides many hours of fun for our children. We would ask that all users of the playground follow basic safety guidelines when playing on the equipment. 1) Parents or care-givers should supervise children at all times from inside the fenced area. 2) No pets should be brought within the fenced area. 3) The equipment is specifically designed for children 5-11. Younger children should be closely monitored and children over the age of 11 should not be on it at all. 4) No climbing UP the slide -- use the stairs. 5) No climbing ,sitting, or standing on top of the curly slide structure or the tube. 6) The Preschool and Enrichment programs have exclusive use of the playground Monday through Friday at specific times. For the safety of all of our children, please do not visit the playground when the preschool and enrichment classes are playing on the playground.
Please be aware that First Church has been declared a nut-free environment. No nuts of any kind should be brought to the church. A number of people in our congregation have life-threatening allergies to peanuts and other kinds of nuts. Please check the ingredients of any food product you bring into the church. Also there are people who are highly allergic to animals, so please leave your pets at home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
