Letter to Parents of Freshmen

Dear Parents of Freshman Students,
You’ve made it! Congratulations! Your ninth grader is about to enter one of the most significant transitions of their young lives – they are on their way to high school. The next four years will be some of the most joyous and challenging for them (and for you, too). I want you to know that the 2x4x8 Youth Ministry staff at the church is here to partner with you to help your teenager have a successful, faith-filled and fun high school experience.
As I am sure you are aware, this first year of high school is filled with both excitement and anxiety. It is critical where new friendships are made and your teen’s future begins to take shape. In our experience working with youth in this community we have come to believe that when a youth is connected with a faith community of other teens they are better able to navigate the ups and downs of high school. We have also come to believe that if your teenager does not get youth group or other church related activities into their schedule during their freshman year they probably never will. In order to help your freshman make this vital connection, we have established some programs and events designed specifically for them. I have come to believe that with a little extra attention during this important time of transition your freshman will come to the place where being involved in youth group is something they will want to do rather than feel like they are being made to do. We are excited to get to know you and your freshman and we are looking forward to the ways God will be at work through them throughout their High School years!
Primarily we hope you hill help us connect your Freshman student to the following 2x4x8 ministries:
Freshman Rally Day! - B.A.S.I.C. Group - The LOOP - Spring/Summer Mission Trips
By connecting to these and other 2x4x8 Ministries we expect that your Freshmen will bless this community and that this community will find many ways to bless them on their journey as well!
Peace,
The 2x4x8 Team
