“I am the First and the Last.” Revelation 1:17
The conversation was filled with passion and determination as the athlete exclaimed,
“We want first place nothing else will do Chad.” The other day, I needed assistance
and when I asked another for it he replied, “I’ll lose my spot and I want to be first in
line.” No doubt about it, “first” is all-about what’s most important to us.
With so much to handle and tackle, what comes first in our lives?
A recent study shows that students priorities are the following: 1. school work;
2. athletics; 3. friendships; 4. notoriety through extracurricular activities;
5. boyfriend/girlfriend relationship; and 12. faith.
This year at First Student Ministries our focus will 100% center on the question, WHO
comes first in our lives? Our theme is Christ First. As you make your way through our
web site, please know that it’s not about WHAT we’ll be doing, rather it’s all about the
WHO! Jesus Christ will be first in our times together. We’re going to make sure to place
the spotlight on Christ and not ourselves. And, hopefully, when it’s all said and done our
priorities will be 1. Faith and 12. will be something else!
