National Day of Prayer
First Thursday in May

Established as an annual event in 1952, National Day of Prayer is offered to all Americans, regardless of religion, to celebrate their faith through prayer. Tens of thousands of events are held nationwide including prayer breakfasts, Bible reading marathons, concerts of prayer, rallies, church prayer vigils, student flagpole gatherings, and observances held in sports stadiums.
