Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. It is our custom on Ash Wednesday to offer fourteen services, each beginning on the hour, starting at 7:00 in the morning and continuing through 8:00 in the evening. (This last service is largely for senior highs, but everyone is invited.)

Services are held in the Runkel Chapel and last 20-30 minutes. Never have we had a service with less than ten people. And some hours, the chapel is full.

Each service offers a pair of hymns, a meditation by one of our clergy, and an invitation to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion by intinction. For those desiring ashes, they will be available on the side worship table.

This is a wonderful way to begin the Lenten season.
