Women's Handbell Choir

The Women's Handbell Choir is one of the oldest handbell choirs in the area, if not in the United States. Begun more than 30 years ago, it has consistently been a regular fixture of our Sunday Morning Worship hours as well as an outreach to the community.

The choir practices on Tuesday mornings and plays in worship services about once a month. In addition, they perform at shopping malls, retirement complexes, Senior centers, and continuing care facilities on a seasonal basis. They have also participated in the Lansing Area Ministry of Bells (LAMB) in their spring festival. The choir is a member of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR).

The group consists of adult women who enter the group with basic music reading skills. They are taught the enjoyable art of handbell ringing and soon are ringing at an intermediate level of skill. The choir has 11 regular members and 2 substitutes. While no auditions are required, there is a set number of participants.
