Scriptures tell us, in ancient times, when nations were threatened by dangers without and injustice within, prophets, priests and kings would gather the people for days of repentance and prayer. ... We stand this night before our great creator because our world is threatened with racial conflict, ethnic prejudice and religious war. We ask to be forgiven for our violence, silence, blindness and sin. We ask that our wounds be healed and that we be reconciled to one another and to our source of life and hope.
The Reverend Edward L. Mullins
Rector, Christ Church Cranbrook
From the Welcome to the 2004 World Sabbath of Religious Reconciliation |
The service will be held at Christ Church Cranbrook, 470 Church Road (near the intersection of Lone Pine and Cranbrook Roads), in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Members of First Church who have participated in this service in the past have found it to be a deeply moving experience. Please bring your family and guests to join us for this service.
