Dedication of our Peace Pole
|
On November 19, 2006, we gathered to dedicate our Peace Pole.

|
ORDER OF DEDICATION
Welcome
Reading of Scripture Micah 4:1-4
Litany of Dedication
Leader: The Psalmist says "Pray. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
People: Lord, today we pray for peace in our world.
Leader: We gather in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, the one who comes to be the Savior of the whole world.
People: Lord, may peace prevail on earth today.
Leader: We witness to our connection with brothers and sisters around the world in a common prayer for peace. With our brothers and sisters in Prague and all of Eastern Europe we pray,
People: May peace prevail on earth today.
Leader: With our brothers and sisters in Chile and Costa Rica and all of Latin and South America we pray,
People: May peace prevail on earth today.
Leader: With our brothers and sisters in Zambia and Liberia and all of Africa we pray,
People: May peace prevail on earth today.
Leader: Here in our own nation, in all the English speaking world and for all of God's people we pray,
People: May peace prevail on earth today.
Leader: May this simple peace pole be for us a reminder of our commitment to work and pray for peace in the name and spirit of Jesus Christ, until the day when his kingdom comes and his will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
Unison Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
