Appalachian Service Project — Kentucky

The Appalachia Service Project is a home repair and home building ministry through which volunteers and staff repair and build homes for low-income families in rural Central Appalachia. ASP’s goal is to improve homes while offering transformational experiences for volunteers and homeowners alike. See our Appalachian Service Project page for details.

FUMC Mission Teams

This money is set aside to help with project expenses for our mission teams. Note that the mission team members pay for their own travel expenses. The Partners in Mission fund pays only for project materials.

McCurdy Mission School — New Mexico

See the McCurdy Mission School website for details of their work.

Red Bird Mission — Kentucky

Funds are used to support Red Bird Mission located in the rural Appalachian Mountain regions of Kentucky. This is a comprehensive mission program providing education for hundreds of preschool through high school children in a remote area. It also has programs for elderly persons and for economic development in this region. See our Red Bird Missionary Conference page for details. We also support Ruth Wiertzema, the missionary for this group, through our church operating budget.

Sneedville — Tennessee

This money is allocated for postage to send used clothing which is gathered at our rummage sales to Sneedville, a community in one of the poorest counties in the country. We have also used Partners in Missions funds to provide clean drinking water for an entire community in this area. See our Sneedville page for details.
