Marietta Jaeger

March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Marietta Jaeger LaneAs part of our Lenten study of the Beatitudes, we would like to invite everyone high school age and older to hear one mother's story of living the Beatitude "Blessed are the merciful."

Her story is an amazing one of what it truly means to be merciful.

Marietta Jaeger's daughter was kidnapped from the family's tent while on a camping trip in Montana. On March 25, Marietta will share the story of the FBI's investigation and her own spiritual struggle from fury to forgiveness.

Marietta is the writer or subject of many book chapters and articles for religious, health and social justice publications, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu's book No Future Without Forgiveness and Catholic University's Journal on Restorative Justice.

She has appeared on ABC's 20/20 program, Good Morning, America and The FBI: Untold Stories, as well as on A&E and the Discovery channel.

In addition to speaking to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and being interviewed twice on The Vatican Radio Station, she has appeared on programs and in print in England, Ireland, Sweden, Canada, Denmark, Italy, France, Japan and South Korea.

Marietta is the Past Director of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. She frequently speaks at workshops and retreats on forgiveness, reconciliation, peacemaking and social justice issues across the United States and around the world.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to hear Marietta's powerful message of mercy. Please plan to join us Sunday, March 25, at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

Child care will be provided with a reservation made with Janet Hucke at 248-646-6407 ext 3141 by Thursday, March 22.
