Habitats for All

This fundraiser is over.
This information has been left on our web site
to provide an idea of the kinds of programs
which are offered by our church during the year. |
The Habitat Committee at First Church invites everyone - young, old, singles, couples, families, groups, and church friends - to share in the excitement of……………
Decorating a Birdhouse for the 2007 Habitat Auction Fundraiser.
The Habitat Committee has constructed 50 basic birdhouses. Won’t you be one of the first 50 people to get a birdhouse to paint, embellish, and decorate?! Birdhouses are free to you. You only need to provide the paint and decorations of your choosing. Be creative! If you wish, you may even build your own birdhouse of any style or size and decorate it. Birdhouses may be decorated for indoor or outdoor use. You will find examples of creative ideas displayed on bulletin boards and in Fellowship Hall.
Completed birdhouses will be displayed around the church during the months of December and January for all to preview and enjoy. Pick out your favorite, and then be prepared to bid for it beginning January 28th. Final bidding and announcement of the auction winners will take place at a Habitat Kickoff Pancake Breakfast on February 11th.
All proceeds from this fun, all-church activity will go to fund our 2007 Habitat House.
Here is a brief calendar of dates for this “creative mini-build”.
- November 5th—Pick up your birdhouse in Fellowship Hall.
- December 10th—Begin returning completed birdhouses to the church office or one of the persons below.
- January 14th —last call—all completed birdhouses must be returned.
- December 10th to January 28th—Birdhouses displayed around the church.
- January 28th and February 4th—Birdhouses displayed in Fellowship Hall and Silent Auction begins.
- February 11th—Final bidding. Pancake Breakfast. Winners announced.
