2002 Mission

Volunteers in Mission work trip to Pital, in the north central part of Costa Rica

This year, the team's main task was the complete renovation of a multi-purpose room, including construction, painting, tiling, electrical, plumbing, etc. In addition, doors were added and an interior face lift given to the main church facility - and a colorful "flame and cross" was painted near the main entrance. Finally, a safe stairway to the upper classroom and a wide cement walkway from the church, definitely required during the rainy season, was contracted to local artisans and will be in place shortly. The local church leadership and members were absolutely thrilled with our efforts, and sent us on our way with prayers and best wishes for us, our families, and for our ever-supportive FUMC Birmingham congregation.
