The younger children in our church are also involved in mission and outreach. Here are some of their recent projects.
Vacation Bible School each year has a project called "Operation Kid-to-Kid." Among the projects in recents years have been sending Bible coloring books to Russia and Romania, sending school supplies to Costa Rica with the Volunteers in Mission team, and collecting new shoes and socks to send to orphans all over the world.
4th and 5th grade God's Kids participate in CROP Walk, make Easter baskets for shut-ins, and serve at the Baldwin soup kitchen.
Caring Christian Kids visit Alterra Wynwood of Troy assisted living facility every second month, creating crafts, greeting cards, songs, and special snacks for the residents.
A group of 4th, 5th and 6th graders will spend four days in July on a mission trip to Sneedville, Tennessee, working on the Jubilee Project.
The Enrichment Program children have earned money for the Heifer Project to purchase a bee hive.
Every year 2nd graders collect candy and make goodie bags at Halloween time for children at Baldwin Center.
The Preschool Children each year bring candy kisses for the Project Angel Tree families.
In 2005, the children helped make bowls for the Empty Bowls dinner. |
