Angel Tree

Through an innovative program called Project Angel Tree, Prison Fellowship helps make Christmas come alive for children of prisoners and helps build relationships between parents in prison and their children.

Angel Tree works this way... Paper angels, each featuring the name of a child, are displayed in Fellowship Hall one Sunday late in November. Beneath the name of the child is a list of wishes from that child. You are invited to "adopt an angel" - to purchase and wrap gifts for that child, then return the gifts to the church early in December. The gifts are delivered to the children by members of our church.

Each year there is a very generous outpouring of gifts in support of this project. Last year, FUMC served 355 of these children, served an additional 105 children within the households, and provided 168 food baskets.

This is a wonderful way to show God's love and grace to children and to prisoners. Volunteers are needed to phone families in October, to purchase and wrap gifts, to help put together food baskets, and to deliver the gifts to each family.

This project is financially supported by the Hunger Ministry and the United Methodist Women.
