Historical Remembrances
Lelia Barber Eagloski
I was in high school in 1952. We had a very active MYF group at the church on Henrietta and Maple. We held meetings in the church house. I remember it being connected to the church and going back and forth. The choir faced out to the congregation and the high school choir sang for a lot of the church services. Vic Ulrich was the director.
We came to the new church and I am afraid I don't remember being so impressed with the sanctuary, but there was a new choir director and the adult choirs sang at most of the services. We gave Rodney Petersen every challenge we could think of. I do remember loving the stage in the Fellowship Hall. The MYF gave variety shows from it and performed for the church members. We had a great time practicing and performing.
Beth Duffy was the leader for the youth and we all became very fond of her. The MYF all became good friends and dated socially through our high school years. I think it was through these meetings that I developed my love and respect for the church. I went off to college and got married and still remained a member of this church. Thank you for being there.
