Mission Trip to Sneedville

Summer, 2009

ATTENTION ALL 4th, 5th AND 6th GRADERS

An exciting opportunity is waiting just for you! There is a mission trip planned during the summer to Sneedville, Tennessee. We will be doing things like: helping paint, help with the clothing store, senior center, nursing home and more. We have a dedicated and experienced group of counselors planning on going and all we need is you! We can only take 20 4th, 5th and 6th graders, so space is limited.. There will be parent and child interviews for those students who have not previously gone to Sneedville.

We will be traveling to Tennessee by a rented bus. The bus ride is approximately 10 hours , plus stops for lunch and dinner on the road. We also will have an extra van accompany us to help us get to our work sites once we are there. We will sleep at the center in sleeping bags on the floor. There are shower facilities in an adjacent building. We will be fixing our own breakfasts, lunches, and some dinners. We will have a nightly devotion that different groups of students and counselor will do each night. I will give you the information and you will need to work with your group on who will do each part.

We will have a mission team meeting so you can get to know everyone who is attending. We also will go through the necessary papers that I will need your parents to complete for you to attend the mission trip.

We will have a second meeting to finalize our plans and learn more about the people we will be helping. At this meeting I will need the balance paid for your trip. You will also be given a supply list of suggestions of items that you should pack.
