Blessing the Children
In this picture, Christ is blessing children who are, symbolically, of different nations and eras--an Indian boy, a Dutch girl, and on His lap a Chinese child and a Negro child. 'Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'
Information on the stained glass windows comes from the book "The Windows and Symbolism of First Methodist Church, Birmingham, Michigan", edited by Dr. Arnold F. Runkel and privately published by the church for its members in 1966.
