Chambliss Outdoor Worship Center
This beautiful worship center located on the east side of the church property is a living memorial to Roger R. Chambliss, beloved son of Edward and Eleanor Chambliss, who gave his life in Vietnam. Eleanor Chambliss lovingly tended this garden for more than twenty-five years. "The memorial garden is in keeping with the things Roger loved ... the out of doors, his church, and his country."
The worship center was originally dedicated on June 23, 1974. In 1999 it was renovated with donations and funds from the Trustees and Endowment Committee. The Landscape Committee directed the renovation and helped to make this outdoor garden wheelchair accessible.
During the summer months, outdoor worship is held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. Sunrise services are often held here Easter morning. This beautiful, serene, and spiritual place of worship is available for weddings, baptisms, and Holy Communion.
